Jeremiah 8:4-12 | 1 Corinthians 12:1-11 | Luke 19:41-48 

Jesus weeps over Jerusalem, seeing her coming destruction, and so cleanses the Temple, which has become a "den of thieves" (Luke 19:41-48). Destruction is coming; have we known the time of our visitation by the Son of Man? The leaders of the Jews begin plotting to destroy Jesus. Even in the summer, many months on either side from Good Friday, the cross—and the rescue of the human race Jesus won there—is never far from our minds.
