2 Samuel 22:26-3 | 1 Corinthians 10:6-13 | Luke 16:1-13
This Sunday challenges us with the Parable of the Unjust Steward (Luke 16:1-13). He has mismanaged the affairs of his lord. At the moment he is losing his job, he secures his future by forgiving debts owed to his master. This maneuver wins friends for him. Although he is fired, the lord is nevertheless impressed by his cunning. We are advised to likewise make friends with the “unrighteous mammon,” that we will have friends in heaven. What are we doing with the money entrusted to us?
