Immanuel's Football Team Braves the Cold

Saturday morning's cold temperatures couldn't stop the Immanuel Lutheran Church and School football team. Our team, lead by ILS upper school teacher Mr. Schultz and including several dads, teachers, teacher's husbands and congregants, took to the field for a rematch against the team from First Baptist, which Immanuel had first played a few weeks ago. Many ILS parents, teachers and students braved the cold to cheer on the team.

The Immanuel team, fresh off a great scrimmage last weekend, got off to a great start, taking the early lead with an impressive touch-down from Mr. Krumwiede. From there, it was a hard-fought game on both sides. In spite of a great showing by the Immanuel team, in the end, the guys from First Baptist pulled out the win.

Mr. Schultz commented, "Even though each player came home with bumps and bruises, this was a great opportunity to bring our Immanuel men together and build community."

Thank you to Mr. Schultz for organizing this wonderful opportunity for our community, and thank you to everyone who was a part of the team! We hope to make this an on-going opportunity for our ILS/ILC community, so please stay tuned for future games and scrimmages. We will try and organize more football in the spring, and if there is interest, we may plan some basketball this winter. Joining the Immanuel softball team is also an option later in the spring. If you'd like to join the Immanuel team for any of these sports, please contact Mr. Schultz.
