Welcome to Immanuel!

Who We Are

  • Immanuel — Hebrew for "God with us"; a term used for Christ in Isaiah 7:14 and Matthew 1:23

  • Evangelical — Focused on the Gospel, the Good News of Jesus and the life found in Him

  • Lutheran — Catholic Christianity reformed, continuing the Biblical renewal movement begun with Martin Luther

  • Church — Gathered for witness, mercy, and life together

Founded in Old Town Alexandria in 1870, we have been a member congregation of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod since 1880.
